Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA)

DEPLOYABLE STRUCTURES

Success Story: ROSA

The Roll-Out Solar Array, or ROSA, uses stored strain-energy in composite slit-tube booms to deploy a flexible array thereby eliminating a significant portion of the complex, expensive, and heavy components used on traditional panels. LoadPath’s slit tube booms were instrumental in the successful demonstration of this technology. Watch the successful deployment aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
